Conducting
Custom
Measurements
In order to
correctly measure for your Eagle Reef custom wetsuit, it will be necessary
to have someone measure you. If a third person is available, that person
can assist by writing down the measurements as they are taken. This,
of course, is not necessary, but significantly speeds the process and
allows the person doing the measuring to maintain consistent reference
points. We suggest printing a copy of the instructions to use as reference
during the measuring process. We also suggest that the process be conducted
twice, to ensure the most accurate measurements possible. People are
often surprised that a mistake or two was made while conducting the
original measurements.
Ideally,
the person being measured should be wearing the same undergarments that
will be worn while using the suit. For example, if a person wears a
rash guard, a dive skin, or bathing suit underneath, these items should
be worn during the measuring process. Don't forget booties. If these
will be used with the suit, these should be worn during the process.

The
person being measured needs to stand straight, legs slightly apart,
and be as still as possible during the measuring, keeping the head still,
facing forward, looking straight ahead. DO NOT LOOK DOWN!! There will
be temptation to look at what is being done, but DON'T DO IT! Trust
the person measuring. Looking down will only cause measurement errors.
To
assist in the measuring process, we recommend that key measuring points
be marked before hand, using a felt tipped marker, or other method.
This will be extremely useful for the person doing the measuring. Key
areas to mark will be: The top of the shoulder; wrist (just above the
wrist-bone); and the ankle (just above the ankle-bone). For measuring
points from the crotch, it is suggested that a magazine, binding facing
up, be placed between the legs, and held in place by gently squeezing.
The crotch point can then be measured from the binding of the magazine
to the necessary points. Don't let the magazine slip, and DON'T LOOK
DOWN. Once the points to the crotch are measured, the magazine can be
removed.
Measurements
All measurements
should be in inches to the nearest 1/16. If there is a question, or
you need help, feel free to email
